Round Face Shape: How To Choose Earrings That Flatter You

Last time, we talked about choosing the right earrings for an oval face. This week, we'll give tips for those of you with a round face shape.

If you have a round face, you will need earrings that will elongate your face shape, making it look slimmer. Go for length in your earring design. Dangling earrings work best, especially angular or square ones. If you're tall, you can also try shoulder duster earrings - the kind that is long enough to touch your shoulders ever so slightly.

You should avoid earrings with circular designs such as hoops and button earrings that will only make your face look rounder.

An Event to Remember

We were at a family day event last Saturday. It was a day filled with lots of games, performances and of course, delicious food! There was even a cooking show demonstrated by Asmah Laili, a malay celebrity chef.

Asmah Laili visited our booth and took her time to look through our creations. In the midst of it, she told us that she was looking for pot holders. You can tell she is a dedicated chef :) After a short time spent at our booth, she was kind enough to let us know that we have beautiful products. It dawned upon me, after she walked away, that we should have taken a photograph with her as remembrance.

Tara Road worked collaboratively with Kales Closet at the event. Below were some of the jewelleries and accessories that were displayed at our booth.

Oval Face: How To Choose Earrings That Flatter You

The most basic accessory - the earrings, can make any woman look more attractive. Since they are worn close to the face, earrings must compliment one's face shape.

When it comes to choosing the perfect pair, determine first, the shape of your face. To do so, stand in front of a mirror with your hair pulled back. Then use a dry bar of soap, eyebrow pencil or lipstick to trace the outline of your face. Now stand back and you will see which face shape you belong to. Below is a diagram to guide you.

Let's start with what is considered the ideal face - an oval shape. Not every woman is blessed with an ideal face shape but it is possible to achieve the illusion of a slimmer or wider face through the careful choice of earrings.

Lucky you! You can carry off most shapes, sizes, styles, lengths and widths but triangular shaped earrings are especially flattering. So spoil yourself and go crazy with your choices! However, take care to avoid incredibly long and thin earrings that will elongate your face. The wrong choice of earrings can easily pull you down.

Some famous celebrities with an oval face are Jessica Alba, Julia Roberts, Hilary Swank and Beyonce Knowles.

2 Great Friends. One Beautiful Passion.

Transforming ordinary things into beautiful creations - This is a passion we've shared since secondary school. One of the first things we made and exchanged was a decorated matchbox. The idea blossomed after one of our regular trips to the national library. The mere thought of transforming something as ordinary as a matchbox and then exchanging our creations with each other got us all eager and excited!

When we met a few years later, it was at the old satay club where we talked and discovered once again, our passion and childhood dreams. We exchanged yet again but this time, it was of visions and aspirations.

Inspired, we started out making cards and putting up our creations at art fairs. The encouraging response that followed was like icing on a cake. We love what we do and being able to share our passion with others was the sweetest reward we could ever have. It was a bold step we took and we have not looked back ever since. It was this little endeavor that gave birth to Tara Road - where two friends share one passion and one dream.
